Chrome Plated Bars

Associated Steel offers both induction hardened chrome plated (I.H.C.P.) and hardened chrome plated only (C.P.O.) steel bars. Both shafting products are engineered for construction and material handling equipment, industrial machinery, farm equipment or where any pneumatic and/or hydraulic piston rod is needed.

MIRRO-KROME 60® – [Induction Hardened, Chrome Plated (I.H.C.P.) Polished Shaft]

This is a well-balanced electric furnace steel that has been stress relieved, turned, ground and polished. It is then induction hardened and electro chromium plated. This shafting material is engineered to take a high degree of sliding and rotating abrasion. The induction hardening process provides resistance to side impact and increases wear resistance. Surface hardness is Rockwell “C” 50 minimum and finish is 16 RMS max.

MIRRALOY® HCP – [Hard, Chrome Plated (C.P.O.) Polished Shaft]

This is an excellent extended service chromed shaft material for hydraulic and pneumatic applications when a conventional approach to machining is available. Mirraloy HCP offers salt spray corrosion resistance. Chrome hardness is Rockwell “C” 58/60. It is a precision finished chrome plated shaft, minus the induction hardened surface of the shaft substrate. The outer surface of the shaft has high hardness chrome, the sub-surface of the shaft, (under the chrome), is not hardened.
